Today, #sparkchamber is so pleased to welcome visionary, Cyndi Tomlinson. Cyndi has been a business executive in retail management for over 20 years, and is currently a Regional Manager for an optical company. Her passion is people, and she prides herself on her ability to build powerful teams who enjoy working together to deliver great results. Originally from Chino, CA and now living in El Segundo — “my own little Mayberry” — Cyndi is all about being as real as possible. “What you see is what you get with me.”

Cyndi was touched by cancer in her early twenties and learned quickly that being diagnosed with cancer is a lifetime experience. Recently, she co-founded Bolster & Bridge: The Foundation where she serves as Executive Director. The foundation is a non-profit organization with a mission of integrating yoga therapy and mind/body programs into the medical community to support and empower people and their loved ones touched by cancer. She and co-founder Alison Crowley are committed to change the way the world deals with cancer.

This month, the foundation is raising money to enhance their audio immersion program. This smartphone- and tablet-accessible content uses proactive practices to change the listener’s relationship to stress in order to soothe the central nervous system. This adaptation is hugely beneficial to quality of life, specifically targeting fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, nausea, and body aches. 1.] Where do ideas come from?

Wow everywhere!!! I have so many ideas and I guess they mainly come from my life experiences. I am constantly thinking of ways to fix, handle, solve, and balance whatever crosses my path!!!

2.] What is the itch you are scratching?

I am working on my own personal Zen garden. Finding the peace in the madness and spreading the knowledge I have learned around this. I believe that there is a better way to live then constantly feeling the stress of life. We can’t get rid of stress but we can deal with it differently.

3.] Early bird or night owl, tortoise or hare?

I go for it 110%. When I am in the zone, it is on. Work smarter not harder. I try to find balance, but I feel like I am always working. I need to be able to shut down every once in a while. And I mean SHUT DOWN so that I can maintain my natural drive to always be doing, planning, or organizing something.

4.] How do you know when you are done?

When I no longer can find motivation to continue ... otherwise I am never done. I go until the wheels come off.
