#sparkchamber 030424 — Amanda J

On this first Monday of Women’s History Month #sparkchamber welcomes a woman of the present — marketer and consultant Amanda J. In 2018, after 15 years in marketing and advertising, serving in roles from Producer to Senior Director, Amanda took the leap to start her own consultancy, ELVT. A collective of entrepreneurs, researchers, and designers, the group works to “align the appropriate mix of networks to connect emerging practices and principles against any project to act quickly and scale.”

Known for her negotiation process, profound understanding of market dynamics, and talent for uniting diverse stakeholders and facilitating consensus on multifaceted projects, Amanda secures elevated opportunities for her clients. That same skill set aligns with the real-estate industry in which she has “a family legacy.” As a real-estate investor, she focuses on identifying undervalued properties, optimizing their value, and strategically positioning them in the market. “I offer comprehensive real estate services encompassing buying, selling, as well as construction and design with the same customer-centric approach, focusing on their short- and long-term lifestyle needs.”

Amanda was born and raised in Toronto — a place she still calls “home” — though “My heart and soul live in Italy and California [where I visit often] and other places my curiosity and adventurous spirit take me. I am intrigued by design and beautiful places and spaces. I enjoy certain types of people and conversations — ones that are full of life, depth, new ideas, delicious foods, new experiences, and exploration of self.”

1.] Where do ideas come from?

Our childhood imaginative roots intertwined with today’s reality. I think it's when we're fully attuned, embracing the present, allowing our minds to weave connections between the tangible world, our past musings, and our current perception of existence.

2.] What is the itch you are scratching?

To partake in art that resonates as Raw — be it a film or a moment to savour. Art that knows no bounds or constraints. Collaborating with others dedicated to art for art’s sake. A creation that stirs emotions, unfettered by the repetitive commercial-ness of past ideas.

3.] Early bird or night owl? Tortoise or hare?

An early riser, indeed. There’s an enchantment in greeting the day before the world rouses. That tranquil solitude primes the spirit, aligning oneself before diving into the day’s bustle.

As for pace, I resonate with the hare. Speed and dynamism course through my essence.

4.] How do you know when you are done?

When it leaves its original form. I’ll play forever, but an idea ends the moment it deviates from its original beauty — when we try to add unnecessary and unauthentic parts that don’t belong there.
